Haunted Graffiti - Recoat

-
Click flyer to view full image
-
Come along next Friday night for some 'weird electronic machine based graffiti letter shape fun mixed with scifi film blueprint weirdness'. If I'd went to art college maybe I could find a more highbrow way to explain the show, how we are all haunted machines dealing with one tragedy after another disappearing in our own mechanic complexity, but really it's just a geek out.
-
As always free booze til it but this time with lots more blueprints.
-
At Recoat in Glasgow, with Lyken and elph.

A few of our favourite Edinburgh bands - Eagleowl, Found and Mersault - will play live in accompaniment to a programme of pioneering film footage from the Scottish Screen archive.

If you're in town on Saturday 22nd August make sure you catch it.

If you find yourself in Paris perhaps you could visit the show Stages.
It is in a gallery with a beautiful staircase and in a courtyard full of dapple.
More information can be found here.
There is a really good market near by, so from the gallery if you take a right, then a left and then a right before the Tabac you can buy yourself some really good garlic.

If you would prefer to go on a 30 year old treasure hunt perhaps you could buy this book.

Past the second store of organised memories, along the silver tram lines, across the small park and in the courtyard on the 2/3 level is the studio of Yokoland. It was good to re-meet the Olso makers of beautiful things and sometimes builders of small factories. Have a look see here

Danny MacAskill

I was at Portobello beach on Sunday and we stopped to watch a guy on a bike. He was doing pretty huge jumps onto walls. I've just spotted this video and it turns out his name is Danny MacAskill. You have to watch this it boggles my mind.

Archive

Allen Lane is responsible for creating a lot of joy around the world, through his role as founder of Penguin Books. His various collaborations with authors, artists and designers created countless published wonders. In 1960 he donated his private collection to the University of Bristol - most of the editions signed by the authors, so you would get to see Hemingway's hand writing. Have a look here, but it would probably best to visit in the real.

Nous Vous prints

Nous Vous have released a nice series of prints. One for each of them. mmm

one two three

Oh No. Someone has remade ‘The Taking of Pelham One Two Three.” So before this hits the silver screen again perhaps take a trip to your local video store and rent out the original. Mr Green, Mr Brown, Mr Grey and Mr Blue hijack a money train and then there is a lot of chasing of that train. The original version has a great score by David Shire – and some nice sequences of the underground network in New York.
